Answer: What I recommend is that everybody consider going to get an assessment from an alcohol counselor. Now, there may not be any alcohol issues but what I can say is that it will only help your case. For example, if we are trying to get a judge to accept a reckless driving amendment, oftentimes the fact that a person has gotten counseling will help the judge follow that agreement instead of having questions about that. Moreover, if there are any alcohol issues, an assessor can actually suggest treatment that could help you.
