That does not go on your permanent record, but it is an eminently important hearing in your defense because police officers can be called to that hearing so the lawyer can find out the good and bad facts of the case and develop an entire defense strategy before the prosecution even becomes involved in the case. So I would urge anyone, as soon as they get arrested, within that ten-day period, to hire whichever lawyer they’re going to hire to make sure that they appear at that administrative review and officers are subpoenaed.
